* FYI Leaders must be committed to mentoring their assigned students and finding solutions with the support of the Learning Specialist. This role requires a proactive approach to assisting mentees and a dedication to fostering their success. (Critical Thinking)
* FYI Leaders will be responsible for documenting the data related to their mentees progress and the areas they are working on. This documentation will help track the effectiveness of the mentorship and ensure that all students receive the necessary support. (Professionalism and Communication)
* Meet weekly with FYS (First Year Seminar) courses (formerly Foundations I) (Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership)
* Model good study habits on and off-duty. (Leadership and Professionalism)
* Attend training meetings (Career and Self-Development)

* The FYI Leader role is dedicated to supporting and guiding fellow students as they work towards achieving their academic and personal goals. As FYI Leaders, students will provide academic assistance, help navigate university resources, and offer encouragement to enhance student retention and success.
* We seek peer mentors who are passionate about helping others and recognize that each student's needs are unique. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, eager to learn, and capable of effectively navigating university services. The role will involve guiding and supporting students to ensure their success.
* Current USF student in good standing
* Minimum GPA - 2.5
Good interpersonal and communication skills
