Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure best value and quality for materials and services required.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, operations, and legal, to define procurement needs and deliverables.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with federal regulations, particularly for DOE, DoD, and commercial contracts.
  • Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules for purchased goods, ensuring timely receipt.
  • Monitor and report on market trends to recommend cost-saving initiatives and alternative procurement strategies.
  • Assist in the evaluation of supplier performance and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procurement and supply chain management best practices.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in industries with federal contract requirements (DOE, DoD, etc.) (required).
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software (required).
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) (preferred).
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and compliance requirements for government contracts (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (required).
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
