Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Head Start Family Recruitment & Communication Coordinator in Garden City, KS. This position earns a competitive wage of up to $18 per hour and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

In advancing the mission and vision of Kansas Children's Service League, and specifically the Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) programs, this position is responsible for public awareness, communication with internal and external publics, recruitment events and other projects which promote the agency and the HS/EHS programs. The primary focus of this work will be recruiting new children and families into the programs; and ongoing engagement and support of parents with children enrolled in the program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Recruitment Planning & Reporting
    • Develop public awareness plans which support program priorities and goals.
    • Coordinate recruitment events in all service areas with eligibility staff and other assistant directors which coincide with other community family friendly events.
  • Public Awareness & Events
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources/contacts in order to support parent engagement activities and events.
    • Develop plans with HS/EHS staff to insure continuity of communication and contact with prospective and existing community partners and individuals as it relates to the goals and outcomes of the program.
  • Online Support for Parents & Caregivers
    • Establish and maintain private social media groups for parents enrolled each year in the program.
    • Provide content regarding application, enrollment and other pertinent/program information

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office, social media, Google applications, and Photoshop
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English)
  • Experience in Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, or related field
  • Experience working with a non-profit organization.
  • Experience building community collaborations.
