Position Summary
Drives environmental, occupational health, and safety programs to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Effectively navigates claims, investigations, and implements proactive safety measures that reduce the risk of employee injury.
Total Rewards Package
Compensation The target salary for this position is $82,103 anually.
The target salary is based on internal averages. Versiti sets salary ranges aligned to local markets in which the job is performed. Compensation decisions take into account internal salary averages and differentiation based on education, experience, skills, and performance. Specific salary and benefits information is shared at the time of the phone screening based on your location and qualifications.

Responsibilities
Ensures regulatory compliance in assigned environmental, occupational health, and safety programs, including completion, review, and submission of reports to regulatory agencies. Reviews the work of EHS Representatives.
- Identifies, proactively develops, and drives implementation of programs to promote a strong safety culture. Creates, revises, and maintains policies, procedures, and training for environmental, occupational health, and safety programs, including training delivery.
- Responds to deviations and unexpected events required, with thorough investigations and appropriate recommendations for corrective actions.
- Executes internal audit program of EHS programs according to schedule, ensuring adherence with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Establishes and maintains KPIs for safety, including identification, analysis, and reporting on key metrics to leadership and the Director, Safety.
- Leads organizational projects and completes assigned tasks in timely manner.
- Acts as consultant/resource for EHS programs, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Partners effectively with internal departments to identify and implement process improvements for EHS programs across Versiti's footprint.
- Participates in development of EHS annual and long-range plans, including identifying potential programs to enhance employee safety.
- Promotes organizational culture to be one that embraces and fosters individual commitment to EHS (coordinating Safety Fair, Safety Committee, Health & Wellness, etc.).

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in health sciences, occupational health or safety, industrial hygiene, environmental sciences, or related field. required
- Bachelor's Degree or other formal education in safety programs preferred
Experience
- 4-6 years of ergonomics, environmental, chemical or safety experience required
- 1-3 years of training experience preferred
- 1-3 years in workers' compensation claims management preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in areas such as OSHA compliance, ergonomic assessments, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) , NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), NFPA (The National Fire Protection Agency), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), IATA (International Air Transportation Association), RCRA (The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act), or ICS (Incident Command System) with ability to identify and interpret regulations to provide guidance to stakeholders. required
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. required
- Ability to effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders in managing employee injury claims, investigating incidents, completing root cause investigations, and identifying and implementing effective corrective actions. required
- Ability to work independently and prioritize, manage, and complete multiple tasks within designated deadlines, often requiring a shift in priorities with little advance notice. required
- Ability to effectively lead/manage projects in a team setting, including effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. required
- Ability to design and deliver effective training to individuals with a wide range of experience levels. required
- Continuous Improvement/LEAN/Workstation Design knowledge and skills. preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for periodic travel to off-site facilities. required
Licenses and Certifications
- Professional safety certification such as CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional), CSP(Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CPE (Certified Professional Ergonomist) or similar. required
