OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY Juvenile Parole & Probation Assistant (JPPA) Portland - OYA Washington County Parole & Probation Field Office

The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is hiring a Juvenile Parole & Probation Assistant (JPPA) to support our Washington County Field Office in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will assist Juvenile Parole/Probation Officers by providing case management support and secure youth transportation across community and facility settings. We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a team-oriented mindset are essential. What you will do:

  • Transport youth to and from facilities, court appearances, appointments, and community programs-ensuring safety, documentation, and adherence to OYA transport procedures.

  • Support case management by assisting with assessments, documentation, and follow-ups to help Juvenile Parole/Probation Officers implement individualized reformation plans.

  • Monitor youth progress in educational, vocational, treatment, and community settings-offering guidance and reinforcing positive behavioral change.

  • Collaborate with families and partners to coordinate services, arrange transitional visits, and maintain community connections that support each youth's success.

  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment by using a developmental approach, applying cultural humility, and participating in DEI-related training and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eighteen months experience in a social service, rehabilitative, or correctional program with primary responsibility for guiding individuals or groups in the solution of occupational, educational, personal or social problems; OR
  • An Associates Degree in Criminal Science, Criminal Justice, the Behavioral Sciences, Human Services or a related field
