As a Multicultural Program Coordinator for SOGIE, you will provide leadership and education on key topics related to sexuality, gender, LGBTQ+ support/advocacy, and the intersectionality of identity.

In this impactful role, you will serve as the co-chair for OYA'S Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity & Expression (SOGIE) committee and the LGBTQ+ Advisory Chair. As co-chair of OYA's SOGIE Committee and chair of the LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, you will serve as a key voice and advocate within our agency, helping shape culturally responsive programming that reflects the needs and experiences of Oregon's greater LGBTQ+ community - both in close custody facilities and in community-based programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement culturally affirming strategies and support systems that promote belonging and identity safety to youth with SOGIE-related needs.

  • Center diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as both a value and a practice. You will be expected to apply an equity lens to all aspects of your work-decision-making, policy development, program design, and day-to-day interactions-with the goal of achieving just and equitable outcomes for all youth and staff in OYA's care.

  • Promote just and equitable outcomes for all youth and staff within OYA programs and facilities.

If you're someone who leads with empathy, has a deep understanding of Oregon's LGBTQ+ youth, and is passionate about transformative, youth-centered work, we encourage you to apply and help shape the future of inclusive services at OYA.
