Warehouse Custodian

Overview/Function: The primary responsibilities of this role are to keep assigned areas within the warehouse in clean and orderly condition. The position is full-time (8 hours per day, 5 days per week - Monday through Friday). The hours for this position are 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas of the warehouse/Vertique; including, but not limited to:
  
  
  
  • Dusting and cleaning of all areas of the Vertique system.
  • Mopping.
  • Trash and garbage removal to proper disposal areas.
  • Operating a blower.
  • Handling and removing large bags of cans.
  • Removal and disposal of wrap from pallets.
  
  
  
  
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Report problems or damage that may occur.
• Maintain housekeeping duties (cleaning, organizing, etc).
• Assist with priming the Vertique system each morning.
• Occasionally assist with material handling on the Vertique lines.
• Assist with maintenance of company grounds (pick up trash, shovel snow, cut grass, leaf removal).
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED. (Equivalent experience will be considered.)
• Ability to read and follow directions and work orders.
• Ability to follow all safety requirements/protocols.
• Customer-focused and an excellent team-player who is flexible and willing to adapt to varying situations.
• Some light computer experience is helpful.
• Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.

Additional:

• This position is very active and involves some lifting and/or moving items up to 55 lbs. (Equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
• Standing, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• To accomplish their tasks, the position will need to work around a variety of weather environments which Iowa offers (i.e. sun, rain, sleet, rain, snow, cold, heat)
• Must have reliable transportation.
