Position: PART TIME Forklift/ CDL Driver

Location: Portland, IN

Pay: $28.00/hour plus $2.00/hour of Shift Differential Pay

Shift: 5pm - 9pm

Current Class A CDL License Required!

While reporting to the Warehouse Manager, your primary responsibilities will be working in the warehouse, moving or loading material wherever the need is greatest. Once trailers are loaded, you will move the trailers to the proper location and unload them if needed. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Above all Safety is #1 priority
  • Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
  • Having a high regard to 5S
  • Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
  • Consistently moving product and placing in designated area
  • Must be able to operate a forklift to move, load and unload materials
  • Utilize scanner to scan product
  • Shuttle semi-trailers from the main building to our offsite warehouse.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Perform all the duties as designated by supervisor/manager
  • Helping out other departments as needed.
  • Overtime required at times

  • We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • You have to have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks
  • To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed
  • Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must
  • You will need to be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 49 lbs. as needed
  • Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success
  • You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
  • You will need to be able to perform repetitive duties, including standing for long periods of time and bending, stooping & grasping
  • You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • You will need to be able to scan all material moves
  • You will need to log into iQ360
  • You will need to do daily forklift inspections
  • You will need to do DOT inspections on all equipment before using them
  • Must have and maintain CDL Class A license
