Job Summary

This Administrative Supervisor oversees the WeiD unit of the Police Department. WeID dept. is responsible for producing ID cards for all UCSF employees, students, volunteers, contractors, vendors, affiliates, and visitors. WeID submits fingerprints for background checks and licensing requirements and basic notary services for UCSF operations. The position supervises a staff of five that provides these services at various locations throughout the UCSF campus and health facilities. Duties include staff oversight, writing evaluations, ordering supplies and equipment, keeping complete records, analyzing data, and providing expertise and recommendations to senior management.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. The annual salary range for this position is $87,900-$187,700, with a target entry point of $111,760.+ based on experience. Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or four years of relevant experience and one or more years of relevant experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols, and procedures with a focus on budget, account, and fund management and/or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy.
  • Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
  • Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions.
  • Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, human resources and risk management planning, accounting, and payroll.
  • Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration.
  • Ability to use a high level of discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Solid organizational, planning and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience utilizing ProWatch, Bravura and Manitou.
  • Knowledge of the Live Scan fingerprinting system.
  • Public Notary.
