Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking part time security GSOC Technician to oversee operations for a Corporate Site in Cambridge, MA

Starting Pay $26.52 / hour

Sunday through Wednesday 10 pm - 6 am

Ideal Candidates should have at least 2 years of GSOC Technology Technician

Allied Universal is looking to hire a Security Technology Specialist. The Security Technology Specialist position requires a strong background in physical security technology, such as IP-based security products. Under the direction of the Global Security Systems Supervisor, the Tech Specialist will facilitate troubleshooting, inventorying, maintaining, testing, auditing, programming, and tracking existing physical security programs and oversight of security construction projects. The Tech Specialist must have a technical background with knowledge of various modern security components that directly deal with IP CCTV systems, DVRs, NVRs, servers, networks, intrusion detection systems, access control systems, security locking hardware, alarms, and security panel installation. The individual may be required to oversee multiple projects working seamlessly with team members, vendors, contractors and be able to work unsupervised. Solid written and oral communication skills are an essential component of the position. In addition to primary duties, the Tech Specialist will have a minimal amount of physical security and administrative responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Oversee vendor installation of access control systems consisting of card readers, credentials, badge systems, electric strikes, maglocks, IP CCTV systems, cabling standards (where required), power supplies, PTZ cameras, camera placement, remote viewing, etc.
  • Resolve installation and service issues at multiple sites
  • Read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and floor plans
  • Analyze issues and develop viable solutions
  • Oversee the work of internal and external security vendors/contractors
  • Assist with physical security testing, programming, and certification that a project is customer ready
  • Communicate and interface daily with different individuals to manage obstacles & delays, and report on the general status of each project
  • CCTV Operations
  • Cabling installation and security

  • Control Panel installation and configuration
  • Inventorying Security Systems
  • Auditing Security Systems
  • Testing Security Systems in lab environment
  • Program Security Systems
  • Support the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and the rest of Security Services as needed, including covering GSOC post on occasion

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in security systems to include, access control systems, IP & analog CCTV systems, badge systems, credentials, card readers, and locking systems
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Adept in using computer technology and able to learn new tools
  • An ability to identify and deliver creative solutions to security systems' requirements is needed, balanced with the practicality and pragmatism of those solutions being fit for purpose
  • Able to work with minimal to no supervision, complete work assignments within given deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field of study
