Accounting Manager

Overview:

Possesses strong accounting abilities and manages transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting. Manages the firm's resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. Teaches and mentors staff and effectively embodies and expresses the firm's values and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages monthly close process, along with the preparation of the monthly financial statement reporting package and supporting schedules
  • Reviews and approves monthly recurring journal entries
  • Reviews overhead offices journal entries for accuracy, variances and/or corrections prior to finalizing financials for the month
  • Ensures proper review of all offices' revenue, expenses and profitability with integrity and quality
  • Ensures monthly reports are prepared in accordance with close schedules in a timely manner
  • Manages monthly preparation of internal reporting such as balance sheet and analysis, cash flow and overtime report
  • Conducts monthly review of balance sheet account reconciliations for all countries and oversees that any discrepancies are resolved
  • Manages and supervises the daily activities of the GL Team
  • Participates in scoping, planning, design, testing, modification/installation of accounting systems & related software programs
  • Manages and participates in ad-hoc reporting requests and special accounting projects, taking responsibility for the administration and integrity of the project
  • May work with external auditors, internal audit, IT and Operations to elevate accounting and create professional business relationships
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Support the accounting and finance departments in enhancing the Company's existing accounting procedures and internal controls and seek opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA license preferred
  • Typically with 8+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Experience in Deltek Vision preferred
  • Experience with financial reporting including footnotes
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, GAAP principles and data analytics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate results
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage team with diplomatic leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
  • Ability to problem solve and apply appropriate solutions
  • Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
