Surgery Scheduler - General Surgery

Hourly Pay Range:

Department of General Surgery; Surgery Scheduler - Evanston

Position Highlights:

• Position: Surgery Scheduler
• Location: Primary, Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm
• Required Travel: Travel may be required based on business needs

What you will do:

• Coordinate surgical scheduling between physicians and patients
• Manage Surgery requests
• Manage block time utilization
• Book surgical cases
• Utilize wait lists for appointments/procedures
• Input referrals
• Communicate with patients, Pre-authorization staff, financial services, OR admin team
• Communicate basic pre-op requirements
• Support routine patient calls
• Support patient with scheduling necessary testing, pre-op appointments
• Manage physician template
• Support other departmental surgery schedulers as needed
• Be present in-person for physician clinic days; as space allows

What you will need:

• Must be able to perform multiple tasks, problem solve, and produce detailed, precise work product.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to use Outlook and utilize multiple computer applications and operating systems concurrently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
• Epic knowledge and experience preferred
• Must be a team player and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Working knowledge of health insurance nuances is preferred
