Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Nisga'a CIOPS provides hands-on experienced services to civilian and DoD programs worldwide. Delivering highly skilled, cleared personnel who provide services on five continents for a portfolio of customers. Summary: The IT Process Improvement Specialist will support the C5I Service Center by reviewing and enhancing current IT workflows and documentation. In close coordination with the C5I Department Head and Business Intelligence Analyst, this role will streamline existing IT processes, recommend improvements, and align operational practices with USCG policies and performance objectives. This position is a temporary role with an initial duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with the C5I Department Head and Business Intelligence Analyst to assess current IT processes and workflow documentation across various systems and service lines.
- Analyze and organize existing documentation, ensuring alignment with USCG compliance requirements, SOPs, and enterprise standards.
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and gaps in IT operational workflows and recommend practical, scalable solutions.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, checklists, and policy documents to improve consistency and quality across IT services.
- Apply process improvement frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, or CMMI to enhance service delivery, user experience, and compliance.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, assess needs, and implement approved process changes.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs in collaboration with business intelligence personnel to track improvement efforts and report results to leadership.
- Assist in preparing documentation and artifacts in support of USCG audits, assessments, and continuous improvement reviews.
- Ensure change management principles are applied to promote adoption of updated processes and tools across IT teams.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong skills in process analysis tools and office productivity software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Proven ability to translate technical information into user-friendly process guides and standards.
- Exceptional communication and customer service
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Process Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in IT process improvement, systems analysis, or operations management.
- Direct knowledge of USCG compliance requirements.
- Valid IAT (Information Assurance Technical) Level II Certification
- Such as CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP
- Active Secret Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with USCG IT and BPM software systems
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Experience supporting C5I or other DHS/DoD components in a process improvement or compliance role.
