-The IV-Room Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Faulkner Hospital Pharmacy IV Room services meet USP <797> compliance. This includes staying knowledgeable in all areas of sterile products manufacturing, instruction of new IV room staff, monitoring of staff sterile technique, and updating staff on any changes in procedure. Responsibility also includes assisting the vendors who service the IV Room (Cleaning and Environmental Monitoring, etc.).
*The IV-Room Coordinator is also responsible for processing medication orders entered in provider-order-entry (and written) by the prescribers, for promptly and accurately providing medications for administration to patients, and for supplying pertinent, timely, and accurate information to health care workers and patients for the safe and effective use of medications. *Fulfills all requirements of the Staff Pharmacist's role. *Primarily responsible for ensuring IV Room Compliance with USP <797> requirements. *Trains and oversees all training of IV personnel. *Coordinates day to day IV Room operations in an efficient and structured manner. *Serves as a resource, especially regarding IV Additive processes, to all hospital staff. *Together with the Pharmacy Director, consistently strives to improve the functioning and service of the IV Additive program at Faulkner Hospital. *Regularly works and maintains competency in the main pharmacy (non-IV) and clinical areas. *Annually attends or participates in IV-related continuing education programs. *Responsible for staff competency in IV Room in accordance with USP <797> *Ensures staff follow USP <797> Standing operating Procedures *Assists the Director of Pharmacy in the development of Drug Administration Guidelines for all medications. *Special Projects: Accepts and completes in a timely manner all special projects assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Education Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Studies required Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Pharmacist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Experience Experience in a clinical pharmacy role, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and expertise. 5-7 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and evidence-based medicine. - Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage and mentor pharmacy staff. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients. - Proficiency in utilizing pharmacy information systems and electronic health records. - Detail-oriented mindset for accurate medication order review and patient care. - Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve medication-related issues.
