Inside Sales Representative, Transformers

Responsibilities & Expectations:

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Transformers Inside Sales Representative for B&B Transformers in Farmington, MN. As an Inside Sales Representative for IPS, you will work with IPS external sales teams as well as the internal operations teams to increase sales and maximize customer satisfaction.

• Provide customer service for timely and cost-effective completion of all New, Repaired and Remanufactured Distribution and Dry Transformers opportunities/projects, in support of the IPS outside sales organization and our OEM partners. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Processing customer inquiries
  • Providing quotations and estimates
  • Entering orders
  • Processing orders
  • Selection and procurement of transformers from suppliers, as applicable
  • Tracking of projects and shipments
  • Maintain detailed notes and records in order files
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Investigation and resolution of customer issues
• Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries with assistance from IPS engineering/operations teams and OEM partners
• Develop and present technical and commercial proposals to customers
• Review customer purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with quotations
• Help mediate critical issues with customers
• Ensure that all customer requirements, such as inspections, data collection, and delivery of materials, are met
• Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers
• Assist in sourcing and buying surplus Distribution Transformers from utilities and other sources
• Lead the effort to improve key customer-facing metrics: (time to quote, approval to ship, and ship to invoice)
• Assist in achieving financial targets set out by the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including key IPS metrics: (margin performance vs. work plans, labor utilization, direct and indirect costs)
• Interpret and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures
• Utilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution tools and processes
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications and Competencies:

• High school diploma required
• Sharp analytical thinking and reasoning abilities
• Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite as well as Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and take appropriate action
• Excellent time management
• Ability to communicate technical data in a clear and concise manner
• Must exhibit excellent written and verbal skills
• Technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products is a plus
• 3 or more years of customer service or inside sales experience in an industrial environment or equivalent education preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with current and potential customers and suppliers
• Critical attention to detail

Pay Rate Details: $70,000 - $85,000
