Job Description

Cornerstone Building Brands is looking for aBusiness Intelligence Engineer to join our Aperture Solutions product offerings. This role is integral to our business and will make an impact from day one.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Complex Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis, feature engineering, and model development to address critical business challenges. Utilize advanced statistical techniques to derive insights and inform strategic decisions
  • Innovate Predictive Models: Develop and refine predictive models, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable value
  • Strategic BI Project Management: Drive strategic planning and execution of Business Intelligence projects, ensuring resource optimization, timely delivery, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Data Infrastructure Design: Design and oversee the implementation of robust data infrastructure, including ingestion, processing, analytics pipelines, and data warehousing solutions to enhance scalability and efficiency
  • Advanced Solution Architecture: Architect advanced solutions for automated data processing, model deployment, and continuous integration to streamline data science operations
  • Insightful Reporting: Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders to shape effective metric development and reporting
  • Best Practices Development: Develop and drive best practices in reporting and analysis, ensuring data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Data Security and Compliance: Enforce strict data security and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to data privacy laws and ethical data usage
  • Deep-Dive Analyses: Conduct deep-dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations for presentation to senior leadership
  • Enterprise Data Mapping at Scale: Applied advanced big data engineering to fully automate and map data attributes across the entire Paradigm/AccuQuote catalog ecosystem-work foundational to the ACE team's ability to build a scalable, efficient data warehouse
  • Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Demonstrates a rare ability to translate complex technical data concepts into language that non-technical stakeholders easily understand-building trust and securing alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Strategic Vision for Data Management: Designed and implemented both short- and long-term strategies for ETL processes, laying the groundwork for sustainable and scalable data operations
  • Organizational Influence: Has effectively influenced and guided key decision-makers, driving adoption of data initiatives critical to business transformation

Qualifications

  • SQL Proficiency: At least 4+ years of experience using SQL to query data from databases/data warehouses/cloud data sources (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, BigQuery, etc.)
  • Databricks Expertise: Hands-on experience with Databricks, including the development and optimization of data pipelines, integration of diverse data sources, and implementation of ETL processes to support data analytics and business intelligence initiatives
  • Cloud Platforms Knowledge: Deep familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Analytical Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in analytical roles, with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous data-related challenges and drive strategic business outcomes
  • Project Management Skills: Robust project and program management expertise, capable of orchestrating multiple data initiatives, managing large-scale resources, and adhering to stringent deadlines
  • Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Data Handling Experience: Experience in data mining, ETL, and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Python or PySpark for Data Engineering: Proficiency in using Python or PySpark for advanced data transformations, automation, and pipeline development within tools like Databricks
  • Data Governance Tools: Familiarity with data cataloging and governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Apache Atlas to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance
  • Performance Tuning & Query Optimization: Deep understanding of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance tuning techniques for efficient handling of large datasets
  • Machine Learning Foundations: Working knowledge of basic machine learning concepts such as regression, clustering, or time series forecasting to enhance data-driven insights and build predictive analytics tools
