Overview

The ServiceNow Senior CMDB Engineer will be responsible for leading the configuration management database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. This role involves managing the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, and integrating with other IT systems to support IT service management (ITSM) processes. The CMDB Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure the CMDB supports business needs and IT operations.


Responsibilities

    Oversee the management and accuracy of the CMDB, ensuring that all configuration items (CIs) are identified, controlled, and maintained. This includes managing the lifecycle of CIs from creation to retirement, defining relationships between them, setting naming conventions, defining data models, establishing processes for data entry and updates, and monitoring compliance with CMDB standards.
  • Lead the implementation and maintain discovery, providing governance to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB data. This involves regular audits, reconciliation, and validation of data to ensure it reflects the current state of the IT environment
  • Tracking the CMDB Health, generating reports, providing insights based on CMDB data to support decision-making processes. This includes identifying trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement
  • Working closely with various stakeholders, including IT, security, and business teams, to ensure that the CMDB meets their needs and supports their objectives
  • Providing training and support to users of the CMDB to ensure they understand how to use it effectively and comply with relevant processes and policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • The wage range for this position is $106,900.00-$154,000.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience


Qualifications

Education
* Bachelor's Degree ()

Experience
* 7+ years experience using the ServiceNow with a strong focus on CMDB, CSDM, Discovery and Integration (Required)
* 3+ years experience working within the ITIL and IT Service Management discipline ()

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* ServiceNow: Configuation Management Database High
* ServiceNow: CSDM High
* ServiceNow:ITOM High
* ServceNow Integrations: REST, SOAP and other relevant API High
* Service Mapping High
* ITIL High
* Familiarity with CI (Configuration Item) classes, relationships, and attributes Medium

Licenses and Certifications
* ServiceNow Certified System Administrator - (Required)
