Senior Software Engineer, AEP Lakehouse - Data & AI Systems

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Software Architect to shape the future of AEP Lakehouse by designing and building scalable, high-performance data systems. This role blends data infrastructure, AI workflows, and cloud technology to drive real-time customer intelligence. What You'll Do

As a Software Architect, you will design and optimize data processing systems that support AI model training, large-scale ingestion, and analytics workloads. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to build seamless AI-powered data platforms.

Your role will focus on:

  • Building efficient data pipelines for real-time and batch processing using Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
  • Developing AI training workflows that integrate with Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow, and Ray.
  • Improving data management with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, and advanced indexing techniques.
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure seamless AI model deployment and efficient data usage.
  • Optimizing cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) to enhance scalability and performance.
  • Providing technical leadership by mentoring engineers and driving architectural best practices.
What You Bring

We are looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or a related field) and 8+ years of experience in distributed systems, data engineering, or AI infrastructure.
  • A strong background in large-scale data processing with frameworks like Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
  • Proficiency in C++, Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as Kubeflow, Ray, MLflow, Airflow, or Argo Workflows.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and GPU/TPU-based AI training environments.
  • A problem-solving mindset, with a passion for building efficient and scalable solutions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
