About the role:

You will execute with excellence as being part of a high-functioning and fast-paced team integrating, managing, and supporting AV and Conferencing applications. Gartner associates rely on our AV Conferencing technology to collaborate around the globe which helps create impactful experiences for our associates.

You will be part of a global enterprise Conference Technology Services team accountable for smooth delivery and operations of all enterprise meeting rooms and AV services across the locations, but will be dedicated to our FT Myers COE campus.

Be an ambassador for our AV products and bring visibility, promote new conferencing technology integrations and features. Our associates expect us to deliver cutting-edge audiovisual (AV) solutions that "just works every time!" and create immersive and seamless AV experiences that elevate communication and collaboration.

This position is crucial to delivering a flawless user experience which adheres to the high standards for an Audio-Visual Engineer

You must be able to work under pressure within a high visibility environment and be a quick thinker, while still maintaining a professional and confident attitude to help resolve any issues and support C suite executive leadership during conferencing events in office, virtual and off-site.

You will be expected to have knowledge of AV best practices, the ability to exercise attention to detail, be timely, organized and conduct in a professional manner both verbally and via written communication and be conscious of the quality of work.

Your goal is to ensure associate experience is a key priority, and to ensure our AV technology and Meeting Applications are fully functioning as expected.

Resolve issues and incident tickets reported via ServiceNow and messaging channels.

You will develop technical documentation guidance and conduct training for our associates and partner with World Wide Tech Support. It will be important to have the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Coordinating requirements and implementing installations and AV configurations required for Town halls and All Company Meetings and Operating Committee events.

You'll be the technical liaison with internal partners and external vendors across multiple concurrent projects. You'll be installing, supporting and programming AV hardware and conferencing applications to meet Gartner standards.

Your resourcefulness and intimate knowledge of your craft will make you the go-to resource for timely troubleshooting and support for all conferencing and specialty environments. This includes partnering and troubleshooting with our cross functional teams (Events, Real Estate Facilities, Communications, WWTS, Networking etc.) to assist with all small to large scale AV events.

What you will do:

Support & Operations

  • Support, manage and integrate Conferencing meeting applications and AV technology based on the strategic directions provided by the AV Architect and CTS Director.
  • Take ownership and accountability to holistically manage and support AV systems at Gartner FT. Myers office.
  • Be Team-oriented with a propensity for mentorship and knowledge sharing, drive standardization and processes, develop workflows, and make recommendations to management. Prioritize automation over manual processes.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities, a self-starter and able to manage your workload via Jira
  • Drive incident and problem resolution with excellent hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to effectively triage P1 incidents while maintaining transparency and communication with stakeholders and collaboration with WWTS & GNOC.
  • Proactiving monitor and troubleshoot, and administer Webex, Zoom, MS Teams applications and hardware updates to all devices through vendor service portals to maintain operational excellence.
  • Conduct equipment routine maintenance and perform diagnostics in conferencing rooms and event environments; ensuring that all enterprise audio video devices are functioning at high levels of quality.
  • Generate SOP documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences, create user guides, knowledge based articles and train end-users on AV and Conferencing applications.
  • Collaborate and liaison with WWTS, HD and Communications teams with any new product enhancements, known bugs and or change management activities to help facilitate activities which impact associate experience and manage reported incidents.
  • Coordinate and manage AV setups for town hall, ACM and OC events, ensuring smooth operation and seamless experience during the event.

AV Projects & Integrations

  • Project management experience taking full ownership with a personal sense of accountability in global deployments of AV systems and technologies with a localization mindset
  • Must be proficient in reading audio visual drawings, schematics and other related documents to support AV Architect with CAD/BIM and drawings for all designs (facility, electrical, equipment/rack elevations, cable/conduit risers and schematics etc)
  • Experience building new conference rooms, boardrooms, training room spaces and auditoriums and custom speciality spaces, consisting of various AV devices and components (camera, displays, video walls, speakers, microphone, control systems etc.)
  • Create sandbox and test environments for evaluation and testing of new AV technologies and device configurations.
  • Have knowledge in switching, routing, multiplexers, control systems, display devices, scalers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, rack layouts, cable termination and management.
  • Audio programming skills to optimize sound quality and ensure seamless audio performance.
  • Strong knowledge of AV system design principles, including audio and video signal flow, processing, and control.
  • Manage on-site site survey, integration, coordination, and project commissioning and close out activities.
  • Collaborate with security, network engineering, and systems engineering to ensure infrastructure cohesion
  • Assist integrators and vendors on control systems programming to design and implement user interfaces for various control surfaces.
  • Assist vendor technicians at Gartner offices during service and break fix visits and preventative maintenance checkpoints.
  • Conduct transition and hand-off training on new AV deployments and instructional guides for associates.

What you will need:

  • 5+ years setting up and supporting large-scale Audio/Visual systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree and experience in Audiovisual design, implementation and support
  • Required expertise with multiple conferencing applications tools and troubleshooting (Google Meet, Zoom, Webex, MS Teams)
  • Expertise with multiple AV devices and hardware such as Cisco, Logitech, Crestron, Extron, Shure, Jabra, Plantronics, Neat etc.
  • Experience in digital signage implementation and AppSpace software management
  • Experience in SaaS application management with Google Workspace, Microsoft etc. as it pertains to audiovisual integrations
  • Experience in programming Crestron and Biamp systems.
  • DSP and Control AV System file creation, configuration and implementation and troubleshooting (Biamp, Creston, Extron, AMX, Thinklogical, QSC)
  • Familiarity with network protocols and integration of AV devices into IP-based networks.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as Cisco Control Hub, Servicenow and Jira
  • Experience providing globally scalable solutions for hybrid collaboration
  • Broadcast/stream/live event technology experience
  • Virtual event platform experience (Socio, Webex Events or Notified)
  • Experience managing and working with 3rd party vendors for large events and webcasting.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in AutoCAD and (D-Tools, Visio, Fusion, SketchUp, ReVit etc) to assist AV Architect in design and engineering tasks is a plus.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting of IP-Telephony systems and protocols , voice and video QOS
  • CTS certification and/or manufacturer certified training (Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC etc.) CTS-D & CTS-I is a preferred

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 84,000 USD - 116,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
