About this position

This position is responsible for leading as the key technical liaison between Aptiv and our OEM customer, working on site to ensure a seamless integration and performance of our advanced energy storage and automotive systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong customer-facing communication, enabling you to represent Aptiv's innovative technologies.

Your Role

The Resident Engineer will:

  • Work with established and new customers to develop opportunities to increase Aptiv business outside of traditional automotive wiring
  • Obtain customer information for new designs, review designs and work to complete missing & unclear information
  • Attend meetings and events as requested on time and prepared
  • Work with engineers (product and plant) on harness designs to ensure & improve design robustness and design for manufacturing
  • Work with subsystem engineers to support them in completing their specifications
  • Efficiency studies to reduce both cost and mass when requested
  • Understand and suggest best electrical connection systems to ensure system robustness
  • Leverage Aptiv skill sets as needed to guarantee best harness designs are provided to customer

Basic Qualifications

Key ingredients for succeeding in his role include:

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Team orientated and slightly extroverted
  • Located in (Bay Area, CA)
  • Good Communication (written and email). Includes running coordination meetings
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure needed product changes are executed as instructed
  • Experience in fast pace environment either with startups or another supplier, good face to face skills and project management
  • Self starter and able to follow up on open items without oversight of supervisor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in High Voltage Automotive connections & Wiring
  • Work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Bilingual English & Spanish

Pay Transparency:
The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $160,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including candidate experience and location, in accordance with California pay transparency laws.
