This role will sit in South Carolina.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as program manager, project manager, or technical leader on large and/or complex
  • projects
  • Prepares forecast of workload for assigned staff
  • Provides technical guidance to staff in area of expertise
  • Leads marketing pursuits and/or acts as client contact, and investigates and identifies marketing opportunities to attract clients and obtain work for the company
  • Researches and recommends advances in technical software and other new technology in the field to improve efficiency
  • Mentor others in the transportation market in South Carolina
  • Promote the reputation of the company and increase business by being widely recognized outside the company as a technical expert
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously for SCDOT
  • Review invoicing and personnel assignments
  • Negotiate contracts for both prime and sub roles
  • Develop and maintain client contacts to promote work
  • Manage budgets, schedules and project resources for any size project
  • Manage invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Review and finalize proposals, including scope and pricing
  • Manage project staff for multiple projects
  • Manage quality control for projects
  • Provide quality assurance for projects
  • This position has the potential to supervise staff

Some travel, as well as a valid driver's license and clean driving record will be required.

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 18 years of relevant work experience
  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain one in South Carolina within 3 months of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • SCOT experience
  • Previous experience marketing and attracting clients to win work for the company
