Role & Responsibilities: Join NuoDB, a leading innovator of a high-performance, distributed, multi-cloud capable distributed SQL database. As part of Dassault Systemes, our novel database powers the globally renowned 3DEXPERIENCE platform underpinning a suite of product design, process management, and collaborative tools running in the cloud. NuoDB's QA team is a distributed team whose mission is to ensure we deliver the best-in-class, high-performance, elastic, distributed, always-on database. The NuoDB core engineering team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, Waltham-MA to help define and solve challenging distributed systems problems and write C++ code to add features to and solve bugs in the core of the database. The core engineering team builds and owns the storage, replication, indexing, and transaction management layers, key parts of the NuoDB "secret sauce". The right candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced software engineer and technical leader with a distributed systems background, and experience with database internals is preferred. Must have a demonstrated track record of good technical decisions and designing solutions to complex problems. A successful candidate will be a team player with a patient and methodical approach to engineering. This is an opportunity to join a highly technical team working on a database kernel, with plenty of opportunities for learning new skills on the job from seasoned engineers. This position will be deeply involved with improving performance at scale, including the development of our distributed index data structure and distributed cache management. * A successful candidate will enjoy untangling complex code and have experience with large software systems. * Design and develop features and improvements to the NuoDB core to drive improvements in database performance and scalability * Implement correct, high-performance, and maintainable C++ code and work to reduce system complexity, ensuring the robustness and efficiency of the core system * Write tests to ensure system correctness and reliability * Collaborate as part of a highly distributed engineering organization and participate in collaborative design and code reviews Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or higher preferred * A successful candidate will be an experienced C++ developer experienced with large-scale software systems and legacy code * Strong foundation in systems software development with at least 10 years of professional experience * Design and develop improvements to NuoDB performance, scalability, and robustness * Experience with large, complex codebases Strong debugging skills * Knowledge of SQL database internals is a big plus Shape your career with 3DS! #WeAre3DS "Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $225,000 to $240,000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus".
