Tool Design Engineer
Tool Design Engineer is responsible for the design and modification of forming
dies, holding fixtures, press castings and other manufacturing aids used to
produce structural aerospace parts. This
position requires strong analytical and communication skills to support all
aspects of the manufacturing process.

Job Summary
Use CAD tools to design tools that meets customer specifications
- Ability to use and apply FEA results to enhance designs
- Maintain digital/ electronic data
- Generate tooling work orders
- Support manufacturing and other departments
- Perform cost analysis and tradeoff improvement studies
- Create operation sheets, tool drawings, and detail drawings
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or related experience in job function equivalent (combination of education and experience)
- Up to three years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Strong CAD/CAE skills, Unigraphics preferred
- Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred
- Technical writing skills preferred
