Performance Health is seeking VP, Distribution to join our team in Indianapolis. In this role, you will direct and supervise the North America DC Network and Transportation operations through Performance Health's DC and 3PL network and other transportation vendors. Manage and optimize the global flow of products from manufacturing and vendor locations to the global warehouses. Support the sales and marketing teams in achieving operational goals focused on prompt, accurate, high-quality delivery of products.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop annual operational budgets for the total North America network. Participate in development of the annual business plan
  • Develop, communicate and manage objectives to the NA DC and 3PL providers. Using extensive knowledge of distribution operations and organizational expertise
  • Recruit and develop departmental team and skills to accomplish goals
  • Establish and monitor daily/weekly distribution network performance objectives, and implement action plans to correct operational deficiencies as required
  • Responsible for leading and overseeing all changes needed in the network
  • Provide guidance for alternative sourcing within the supply chain and customer service expectation
  • Lead and own the contract negotiations, which include transportation and other related distribution/logistics needs
  • Report distribution and transportation performance measures as required by the management team
  • Ensure that applicable state and federal regulations are communicated to and understood by the DC Network 3PL vendor, and that both achieve compliance, utilizing guidance from the company's regulatory compliance resources
  • Acquire and maintain information on distribution industry changes to remain knowledgeable of the most current distribution methods available
  • Support the company goals for continuous improvement according to the ISO, VAWD, or any external organizations
  • Sustain an organizational culture characterized by open communication, cooperation and trust
  • Drive the implementation of advanced technologies such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), automation (goods to person, box on demand), robotics, real-time analytics and AI technologies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, order accuracy, inventory control, and service levels.
  • Collaborate with IT, logistics, supply chain planning, and sales teams to align distribution capabilities with business objectives.
  • Continuously meet if not exceed stretch target goals and objectives that lift bottom line impact and customer expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Distribution/Logistics, or similar field
  • 18+ years of experience in distribution operations with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams with demonstrated success and consistent achievement record
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing 3PL service providers for warehousing and transportation management services
  • International distribution experience a plus
  • Experience managing transportation providers for domestic and international shipments
  • Ability to manage a budget and execute operations plans to meet expense goals
  • Experience with financial controls and the analytical skills needed to understand how the management of daily operations translates into monthly, quarterly, and annual expense lines
  • Experience with procedures for capital request, financial justification, and project administration
