Supplier Development Manager - Manufacturing

The Supplier Development Manager will focus on supplier manufacturing capabilities and performance. In this critical position, he or she will provide "boots on the ground" supplier evaluation of a supplier's overall manufacturing readiness - assessing tooling, labor, management, and more to identify supplier manufacturing &/or performance issues within current supply base, as well as future suppliers. Experience with manufacturing process improvement and evaluation is key for this position. In addition, they will provide a similar evaluation of potential future suppliers. It is the responsibility of the Supplier Development Manager to evaluate engineering design producibility, as well as design, that will aid in a supplier's capabilities to perform and reduce cost. The successful candidate will work closely with strategic sourcing and procurement, as well as DAA's business unit's Materials, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations. Additionally, he or she will support development of informational processes and channels of communication. Location: Remote but will require 50-75% travel

What you will do:

• Strategic Supplier onboarding & improvement efforts
• Complete technical supplier assessments relating to manufacturing capability (machinery, tooling, processes), quality, workforce, capacity, continuous improvement, and sub-tier management
• Review &/or develop supplier capacity analysis and tools
• Develop, initiate and maintain supplier specific development plans
• Develop, initiate and maintain supplier specific KPI performance management
• Deploy risk mitigation plans
• Monitor, support &/or facilitate continuous improvement events and initiatives
• Review engineering designs as related to a specific supplier's capabilities and facilitate producibility and design to cost changes
• Review new product introduction designs for producibility and design to cost
• Investigate problem jobs and participate in solutions to improve product quality and recover expenses incurred by Daikin that are the responsibility of the supplier
• Conduct presentations to internal customers and business unit management
• Partner cross functionally to help deliver the organization's strategic goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field
• 5+ years of related field operations/Supply Chain experience on manufacturing products, controls and systems
• Ability to construct and review capacity analysis
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,800 - 188,300 + 20% bonus. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
