Overview
Radar Modeling Engineer Job Location: Columbia, Maryland Job Status: Full Time Clearance: Secret Salary: $110,000 - $170,000 SEG supports the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by performing trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of radars, EO/IR sensors, seeker systems, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- The candidate must be a US citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in the design of, or analysis of sensor systems, seekers, electronic warfare systems, or weapon systems.
- Strong people skills and technical leadership experience are a must.
- MATLAB and/or Python proficiency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- 10 to 20 years of radar systems engineering experience, including radar system modeling and simulation, design, test, and analysis.
- Detailed experience modeling radar systems(SPY/TPY) that support MDA and Navy missions, (Direct experience with Aegis system is desired)
- Experience performing radar system modeling, performance prediction, and data analysis
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing and/or Digital Beam Forming
- Experience in Aegis SPY-1, MMSP/BSP is highly desired.
- Familiarity with electronic attack and protection techniques
- Radar engineering analysis, including the use of Blake charts
- Data extraction and analysis of Aegis SPY-1 Radar
- Strong understanding of RF propagation
- Strong MATLAB and/or Python skills
- Graduate-level coursework and/or hands-on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing
- Prior experience with sensor HW design, signal processing, tracking algorithms, and/or resource management
- Experience in development of simulation tools and test tools for sensor analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and execution of radar and/or RF seeker simulations, add new capabilities to existing simulations, and deliver the simulations to both support internal analysis and as inclusion in deliverable simulations to our government customers and end-users.
- Understand customer requirements, demonstrate the capability to customers and stakeholders, and potentially lead a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop these simulation solutions.
- Prioritize new simulation tool capabilities while maintaining existing ones. The ideal candidate has 10 to 20 years of radar systems engineering experience, including radar system modeling and simulation, design, test, and analysis.
