Wieland is hiring a Labor Relations Manager. The Labor Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing labor relations at Wieland Rolled Products North America's East Alton, IL location. Key responsibilities include contract negotiations, interpreting contracts, and serving as the company advocate during the grievance process. This role is crucial in building strong relationships with union representatives and supporting the company's broader business strategies by fostering an employee-oriented, high-performance culture.

This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be fully on-site.



Responsibilities

Labor Relations Manager Responsibilities:

    Compile information and propose resolutions between labor and management. Liaison between the Company and represented Unions to address issues and concerns without those issues and concerns becoming grievance issues.
  • Responsible for resolving violations of the collective bargaining agreement and/or company policies through the grievance process in its entirety.
  • Directs and participates in the fact-finding process and investigations of site grievances and employee disciplinary issues. Recommends appropriate corrective action
  • Responsible for preparing and actively participating in labor arbitrations on behalf of the Company and in support of local management
  • Oversee the daily administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Assist in creating organizational development plans to meet the needs of the Manufacturing organization.
  • Develops, and leads (through a variety of techniques) the management-labor relationships to improve labor relations.
  • Support case handling and resolution of any unfair labor practice charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against the company.
  • Responsible for the development of labor relations strategies to meet the Company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate, train, and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives to proactively drive employee engagement to enhance continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Manages labor processes including: onboarding, curtailments, bidding, layoffs, and recall of hourly employees
  • Collect and report data to Senior Leadership as needed.

Labor Relations Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources/Labor Relations
  • Minimum 3 years of labor relations experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
  • Leadership experience and experience providing direct, high-volume counsel to diverse customer base
  • Prior experience administering labor contracts, managing through dispute resolution and grievance procedures
  • Proficiency in all aspects of labor and human resources related laws, regulations, policies, concepts and practices
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written: Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resource applications
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
