Job Overview:

The Senior Assistant Merchandise Manager (SAMM) is a critical role on Bloomingdale's Site Merchandising team, responsible for leading and executing merchant and marketing strategies online. The Senior Assistant Merchandise Manager of Content Strategy will help create and optimize gifting and Carousel strategies for website merchandising, navigation and content execution to increase conversion and support the sales plans.


Essential Functions:



  • Execute digital strategies for key gifting and Carousel campaigns and analyze performance metrics to provide recommendations.
  • Optimize sitewide navigation and content execution for digital gifting and Carousel campaigns to boost conversion and support sales goals.
  • Maintain integrity of on-site navigation of products within sitewide campaign categories.
  • Use Adobe Analytics to monitor demand, traffic, engagement and conversion across key categories and brands to inform and optimize merchandising strategies.
  • Collaborate with buying, planning, and marketing partners to fully understand and support key business priorities
  • Maintain the quality of search results, cross-sells and upsells for key gifting categories.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve online messaging & merchandising execution.
  • Assist in campaign planning for on-site content across digital landing pages, navigation, and Homepage.
  • Support digital marketing execution by implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) recommendations and assisting Search and Affiliate teams with linking support.


Qualifications and Competencies:



  • We encourage candidates with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
  • 3-5 years direct experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required


Physical Requirements:



  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
