Position Summary:

The Deposit Account Specialist II is a mid-level position on the Deposit Account Support team, within the Operations department. With moderate supervision, provides administrative and operational support for various functions and transaction types within Operations such as: charge-off account processing, basic IRA transaction processing, responding to SSI, Medicaid and verification of deposit requests, providing statement copies, processing certificate of deposit (CD) request, working quality control reports and other member initiated requests in accordance with established systems, regulations, policies, procedures and department guidelines on a daily basis.

The position also provides support for regulated and seasonal processes such as unclaimed property/escheatment, CP2100 report processing and back-up withholding notices, W8 and W9 processing, as well as tax form processing for 1099s and 5498s and other IRA related notices.

Demonstrate consistency and good judgement when reviewing and resolving daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting exceptions in order to maintain accurate member records. Consistently demonstrate the ability to articulate processes to management as well as to members and third parties, while maintaining professional security of sensitive member information. Balances daily as well as meets established department deadlines and goals. Ability to perform duties of the Deposit Account Specialist I.

Work Location

This position is located at Corporate Headquarters in Downtown Baltimore. Incumbent will be required to report in office for this role. Upon completion of 90 days incumbent may work hybrid schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Retrieve and review reports related to managing overdrawn deposit accounts, processing transactions and maintenancing accounts as applicable
  • Process certificate of deposit renewal requests, archiving documents once complete
  • Process SSI and Medicaid requests, responding within the operational SLA and federal deadline
  • Process IRA transactions, exercising compliance and knowledge of basic requests
  • Process seasonal work as assigned, performing core and ancillary system maintenance as applicable
  • Retrieve and review quality control reports, working reports within established deadlines
  • Processing general account maintenance requests such as account role changes & account closures
  • Process account research requests for transaction and statement verifications
  • Balance GLs as assigned
  • Supports other duties as assigned
  • Manage requests through incoming mail and internal tracking system, completing requests within the defined SLA.
  • Adhere to departmental procedures


Qualifications:



  • Two (2) - Three (3) years of experience in back office processing in a financial environment - Required
  • Two (2) - Three (3) years of experience using multiple system applications including a financial core, document storage systems and financial ancillary systems - Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook - Required

Compensation:

Salary Range per hour, depending on experience and qualifications



  • $18.27 - $26.54

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards or controls; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel.

Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pound objects. Specific vision characteristics required by this position include close vision, adjust focus, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
