Aon is looking for a Director of Risk Management for its Private Risk Management Team. This is a virtual position. - Act as a resource, provide support and collaborate with internal stake holders
- Serve as primary risk management point of contact for complex and family office clients as assigned
- Responsible for development of the strategy, process and creation of risk management deliverables, including intake and evaluation, assessing coverage and identifying possible issues
- Work with client team as applicable (risk managers, legal team, etc.)
- Coordinate discussions and meetings to ensure outstanding levels of communication between client, Aon team and carrier
- Drive communication and negotiations with the carrier on behalf of our clients
- Review/analyze carrier risk management and loss control requirements and assist clients with plans for compliance
- Prepare and deliver tailored Risk Management/loss control strategies and recommendations for complex and Family Office clients for all lines of business
- Conduct client program assessments for loss prevention, risk management/mitigation opportunities, coverage challenges and proper credit application for new/current clients
- Conduct onsite inspections for large accounts and Family Office clients/complex exposures as needed
- Identify risks and develop strategies to build resilience to improve insurability/performance
- Develop emergency CAT/evacuation plans for complex and Family Office clients as assigned
- Partner with the Aon Art & Collections Practice (ACP) on extraction plans/protocols
- Review floor plans, utility shut off, access routes
- Pre-arrange for vendors (transit, movers, conservators, risk mitigation firms, security, etc.).
- Work with Yacht practice on emergency and evacuations plans, etc.
- Develop site specific staff training plans with clients and/or carrier partners
- Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders around risk management challenges, addressing concerns and setting expectations
- Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with carriers and/or other relevant external parties for best possible service results
- Maintain expert level knowledge of risk management and loss control industry tools, technology and trends to help mitigate risk for clients
- Collaborate with team on strategic account reviews, including insurance contracts and advise of potential coverage disputes/issues and collaborate on solutions/services/options
- Identify potential challenges/delays and take steps to expedite resolution
- Support APRM branding and marketing efforts by participating in prospect RFPs/proposals and on existing client renewals, demonstrating APRMs risk management and loss control capabilities/expertise.
- Maintain all communication and file documentation in agency management system
- Develop/deliver educational content to field
- Develop/deliver educational Risk Management content for clients/COIs
- Best practices for clients around wildfire, flood, hurricane, etc.
- Create basic disaster checklists/tool kits for clients
- Build vendor resource list for clients by region
- Develop/manage relationships and data base for specialized client services and vendors. Examples:
- Personal and Home Security
- Mitigation Services
- Cyber Security Assessments
- Staffing services (background checks, employee handbooks, etc.)
- Emergency preparedness service and resources
- Manage CAT response/support CAT events

- Tracking moratoriums/national events
- Manage Impact On Demand Reports
- Manage Risk Analyzer Reports
- Manage delivery of CAT info to field and clients
- Create/manage post event communications
- Manage regional backup and volunteer plans
- Deploy to loss areas to support clients as needed
- Manage SharePoint Risk Management information (carrier info, internal tools, etc.).
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and send annual CAT preparedness, seasonal and event specific email notifications.
- Create Risk Management and CAT tools/checklists for APRM website
Skills and experience that will lead to success:
- Property and Casualty license or must obtain upon hire
- 5-7 years' experience in the High-Net-Worth personal insurance property risk management field
- CPCU, CIC, PRC, ARM, CAPI and/or CPRIA designations completed or in process preferred
- Experience in the custom development of risk management plans for large/complex personal insurance programs.
- Occasional travel required
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours as needed, including during CAT and/or weather events
- Proficiency in collaborating with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement customized strategies for clients, build strong relationships and enhance the service experience through effective communication
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated, creative problem solving/solution oriented
- Passion for service
- Project management, negotiation, and advocacy experience
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Critical and abstract thinking with high level of attention to detail
- Technical expertise in insurance contract review
Education:
- College degree or equivalent years of industry experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $101,000 to $145,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
