Retail Market Operations Governance Specialist II
The Retail Market Operations Procedure Governance Specialist II maintains and improves the division's operational processes while effectively managing risk and operational concerns, reporting to the Senior Manager National Operations and Governance. This role will build and maintain a centralized inventory of policy and procedure documents for Retail that are clear, concise, and accurate. This individual will lead the development of new processes or process changes in response to external demand from change initiatives and enterprise projects and will drive continuous improvement in Retail processes. This role will also contribute to the continuous improvement of Retail's governance processes. In all these activities, this role will collaborate with peers to develop solutions that balance risk, cost, customer experience, and operational burden. This individual will also support various governance, operations, compliance, and regulatory initiatives representing Retail and will help the Retail organization remain connected to the various operational and risk areas of the bank. This role will leverage an understanding of bank systems and processes to develop and maintain Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Operational Monitors.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Governance-Issue Management:


  • Lead the responses for all assigned Issues as the Issue Owner. Ensure that all issues remediations or risk acceptances are thoroughly documented, based on available data, and managed to closure within due dates.
  • Designs innovative solutions and uses creative problem solving to deliver effective remediation plans on time and on budget.
  • Partner with Business Risk & Control Office to ensure that Issue response complies with enterprise policy, that milestone dates are met, and that remediation plans effectively address the risk.


First Line Governance:


  • Build and maintain the centralized inventory of policies and procedures.
  • Write policy and procedure documents for Retail that are clear and concise, making it easy for Retail colleagues to understand and follow the correct way of performing their job duties.
  • Update existing policies and procedures with a high level of accuracy and with a broad view to the full suite of policy and procedure documents so that all documents remain consistent and up to date.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of Governance routines and protocols related to the ongoing review and approval of all policy and procedure documents for Retail.
  • Participate in Risk & Control Self Assessments, contributing in areas of SME to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Contribute to responses from Retail to Compliance Exams, Audits, and similar assessments based on area of expertise, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Comply with existing governance structures that pertain to Retail, identifying areas for improvement and advocating for necessary changes.
  • Support adherence to risk management protocols and procedures, mitigating potential risks within Retail operations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of these protocols and procedures.
  • Partner with the Business Risk & Control Office, Enterprise Compliance, and other teams to assess, test, and monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with compliance officers and legal counsel to address regulatory issues and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal partners and stay abreast of emerging trends and regulatory developments.


Operations Management:


  • Define and implement process improvements across Retail Operations to reduce risk, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and technological solutions aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness across Retail.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise across operations both within Retail and across partner groups to provide effective governance support.
  • Support the overall operations of Retail and serve as a single point of contact for assigned operational strategic initiatives.


Reporting and Analysis:


  • Design Operational Monitors within assigned areas, in partnership with the Business Risk and Control Office and various Data & Reporting teams.
  • Conduct data analysis and to assess risk, inform remediation plan selection, and monitor operational performance and failure rates.


Business Liaison to Change:


  • Partner with other business units to mitigate risk to operations resulting from change initiatives.
  • Collaboratively design new and improved business processes in response to change initiatives, ensuring that business value is realized, and operational risk is minimized.
  • Represent the business needs of Retail in Management Teams and working groups related to change initiatives.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University OR 4 years of relevant experience
  • 5 Years Retail Banking Operations OR Risk Compliance experience
  • 5 Years Financial Services experience
  • 3 Years Performing data or financial analysis experience


Licenses/Certifications:


  • Preferred Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
