Responsibilities

Join Our Team as a Sous Chef at Newport Healthcare

Newport Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to play a key role in delivering culinary excellence to our clients, families, and guests. If you have a love for cooking and an eye for presentation, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, ovens, and floors, adhering to Department of Public Health standards.

  • Dietary Management: Support clients with dietary restrictions and preferences. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all meals are safe and enjoyable for everyone.

  • Meal Preparation: Assist in the daily preparation and presentation of appetizing lunches, dinners, and snacks that will delight our clients and guests.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on all meals and snacks served during your shift, ensuring they meet our high standards of taste and presentation.

  • Recipe Execution: Follow recipes accurately while incorporating your creative flair. Your culinary creations will be both precise and efficient, transforming each dish into a culinary masterpiece.

  • Problem-Solving: Address culinary challenges with resourcefulness and creativity. You will be expected to resolve issues promptly and escalate them through the appropriate channels when necessary.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three - five years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in various kitchen settings required.
  • State Food Safety Certification preferred.

Salary is $22.56-$29/hour based on education and experience.
