Job Summary:

The Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) for Infrastructure Products & Services (Infrastructure) within the Global Markets & Product Organization (GMPO) serves as a trusted advisor, partner, and source of leverage to the Infrastructure organization. The Director will help drive and scale cross-functional initiatives, as well as build deep partnerships across the company, analyze nuanced issues, and synthesize data to strategically execute technical program deliverables on time and within budget. The Director will expedite decision-making by distilling complex issues into clear, actionable choices for leadership, bringing structure to complex programs, operationalizing big ideas, and navigating roadblocks to deliver results. They will act as a consultant, assessing challenges and synthesizing input from stakeholders across the organization to drive targeted decisions. They will focus on impact, moving swiftly from one high-value initiative to the next with an eye on business success.

This role requires an individual who collaborates well and is able to drive results through others, building trust-based relationships internally and externally. They will resolve complex situations and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, appropriately prioritizing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. The Director needs to demonstrate a deep understanding of Equinix Infrastructure products and services, development processes and operating models, and must possess strong business acumen, communication, research, and data analysis skills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Senior Technical Program Management and Strategic Product Portfolio Planning:


  • Lead cross-functional enterprise projects and initiatives, providing technical program management and coordinating efforts among different teams while ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.

  • Lead technical program management (TPM) team and oversee critical initiatives with major cross-functional dependencies.

  • Expedite decision-making by distilling complex issues into clear, actionable choices for leadership, bring structure to complex programs, operationalize big ideas, and navigate roadblocks to deliver results.

  • Act as a consultant, assessing challenges and synthesizing input from stakeholders across the organization to drive targeted decisions.

  • Serve as liaison on technical program management services to the executive leadership team to ensure stakeholder and business alignment.

  • Build and manage a technical program management environment to ensure effective execution of product strategy and enable strong partnership across IPS for delivery.

  • Collaborate with the GMPO and Interconnection Program Management Offices (PMOs) to ensure alignment on standards and best practices, and to develop innovative approaches to scale the Infrastructure TPM services.



  • Collaborate closely with the SVP Infrastructure Products & Services and chief of staff to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, strategy development, and overall improved effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Work closely with cross functional leaders to track resource allocation and utilization for portfolio projects and provide input to the annual budget planning process on major IPS initiatives and programs.

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of the Infrastructure product portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and market trends.

  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly and quarterly business reviews to ensure strategic alignment and accountability.

  • Identify and spearhead high-impact programs that enhance business growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Create and maintain internal and external roadmaps, they reflect current priorities and effectively communicate with key stakeholders.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with program delivery, implementing proactive measures to ensure project success.


Strategic Initiatives:


  • Analyze complex business challenges and innovative, data-driven solutions that align with organizational goals.

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure timely and successful initiative delivery.

  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to execute initiatives that impact profit and loss (P&L).

  • Prepare and present insightful reports and dashboards that provide visibility into program performance and operational metrics.

  • Optimize performance and drive efficiency by establishing repeatable processes.

  • Optimize processes to ensure continuous improvement to drive process quality and productivity, ensuring consistency and efficiency across standards.


Team Leadership:


  • Build and lead a high-performance team of approximately 7-10 employees focused on agile product development and strategic impact, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the Infrastructure Products & Services ecosystem.

  • Explore and implement AI-driven and other tools and technologies to enhance program management processes, data analysis, and decision-making.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, encouraging their development, and promoting a high-performance work environment.

  • Execute performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire decisions/recommendations.


REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience in program management, business strategy & operations or consulting within a high growth technology-focused enterprise.

  • Proven track record of managing complex programs in the product life cycle and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in strategic planning, financial analysis, and data analytics to drive informed decision-making for organizational growth.

  • Experience in leveraging AI tools for project management & operational efficiency is a plus.

  • Success building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing and collaborating in cross-functional environments

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or Technology area; advanced degree preferred.

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
*San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $179,000 to $269,000 per year
*California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $171,000 to $257,000 per year
*Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $155,000 to $233,000 per year
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
