Job Summary:

Join an elite mission at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, SC, and Joint Base Charleston, where your trade skills will ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical plumbing infrastructure. As a key member of DAWSON's facilities maintenance team, you will help maintain the plumbing systems that support dormitories, classrooms, training centers, dining facilities, and administrative buildings. You'll be instrumental in sustaining a safe, sanitary, and high-performing environment for law enforcement trainees and federal staff across this secure, nationally significant campus.

Location: Charleston, SC

Responsibilities:




  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, venting, fixtures, valves, and associated piping.



  • Diagnose plumbing malfunctions and perform corrective action, including repair or replacement of parts, components, or complete systems.



  • Perform preventive maintenance on water heaters, backflow devices, mixing valves, and other plumbing-related equipment.



  • Respond to service calls and emergencies involving leaks, clogs, blockages, or broken fixtures.



  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals in compliance with building and safety codes.



  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local plumbing regulations.



  • Maintain accurate work records, inspection logs, and material usage reports using government-provided tools and systems (e.g., WebTMA).




Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in plumbing installation and maintenance in commercial or institutional facilities.



  • Must hold a valid state or county Journeyman Plumber License (or higher), as required by applicable local authority.



  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools, sewer augers, pipe threading and cutting machines, and diagnostic equipment.



  • Knowledge of water conservation and backflow prevention practices is preferred.



  • Must be physically capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied environmental conditions.




Additional Requirements:




  • Must maintain all required licensure and provide documentation prior to contract start.



  • Participation in an on-call rotation and response to off-hours emergencies may be required.
