Job Summary:

Join an elite mission at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, SC, and Joint Base Charleston, where your electrical expertise will support a high-demand federal law enforcement training hub. As a core member of DAWSON's facilities maintenance team, you will perform essential electrical work that powers classrooms, dormitories, specialized training facilities, and administrative buildings. You'll ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of mission-critical systems-keeping this secure federal complex fully operational and aligned with national safety codes.

Location: Charleston, SC

Responsibilities:




  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.



  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, interpret blueprints, and ensure compliance with schematic diagrams and technical specifications.



  • Maintain lighting systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and emergency power systems across multiple facility types.



  • Support preventive maintenance efforts by inspecting wiring, equipment, and fixtures for signs of wear or safety hazards.



  • Coordinate with other trade specialists to support multi-disciplinary maintenance tasks.



  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete all documentation using government-provided software (e.g., WebTMA).



  • Assist in energy conservation initiatives and ensure safe handling of all electrical tools and materials.




Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in electrical maintenance and repair for institutional or commercial facilities.



  • Must be fully licensed by state or local authority as required for the level of electrical work performed.



  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting, panel replacements, conduit installations, and interpreting electrical codes.



  • Familiarity with life safety systems and power redundancy solutions (e.g., generators, UPS).



  • Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and under variable conditions while adhering to all safety protocols.




Additional Requirements:




  • Must provide proof of active licensure upon hiring and maintain all required certifications throughout the term of employment.



  • Participation in on-call rotation and emergency response may be required outside of normal working hours.
