Job Summary:

Join an elite mission at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, SC, and Joint Base Charleston, where your technical expertise will support a high-demand federal law enforcement training hub. As a vital part of DAWSON's facilities maintenance team, you will ensure optimal steam and hot water operations across mission-critical systems. From classrooms and dormitories to high-use training centers, your role in operating and maintaining boilers safeguards system efficiency, safety, and environmental control-helping sustain the infrastructure that powers national security training.

Location: Charleston, SC

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Perform routine groundskeeping tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, mulching, and leaf removal.

  
  
• 
  

  Maintain walkways, parking areas, and fencing by removing debris, snow, or ice and applying treatments as needed.

  
  
• 
  

  Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, blowers, chain saws, and tractors in a safe and efficient manner.

  
  
• 
  

  Monitor grounds for hazards or damage and report issues (e.g., erosion, irrigation problems, unsafe limbs) to supervision for corrective action.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist with the setup and teardown of temporary structures or barriers for training exercises and events.

  
  
• 
  

  Support landscape installations, including planting flowers, shrubs, and trees in accordance with seasonal schedules and specifications.

  
  
• 
  

  Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE while performing outdoor and equipment-based tasks.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  

  Minimum of 1 year of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or outdoor facility care.

  
  
• 
  

  Familiarity with standard groundskeeping equipment and basic landscaping practices.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to work independently or as part of a team in varied weather conditions and over extended outdoor shifts.

  
  
• 
  

  Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for long periods, and performing repetitive physical tasks.

  
  
• 
  

  Experience working on federal or institutional properties is preferred.

  
  

Additional Requirements:

  Must comply with all FLETC safety protocols and environmental standards.

  Participation in seasonal cleanup and support during emergency operations may be required.
