Job Description

Missouri S&T is seeking a Senior Business Services Consultant to support and enhance the operational effectiveness of the Facilities Services division. This role plays a key part in ensuring that core workflow processes, user interactions, and departmental applications function efficiently and align with the needs of staff and leadership. The position emphasizes improving user experience, delivering training and support, gathering feedback, and ensuring the successful implementation of technology-enabled workflows.

In addition to these process-focused responsibilities, the role requires a strong foundation in IT systems management, application administration, and technical problem-solving-specifically within the specialized systems that support Facilities Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Facilities Services applications, including Maximo, TMA CMMS, JCI Metasys, AccessIT Universal, SimpleK, and Avigilon
  • Design and improve workflow processes in collaboration with Facilities staff to enhance operational efficiency and system alignment with user needs
  • Develop and deliver user training on departmental applications, including creation of documentation and support materials
  • Support end users with day-to-day technical issues, including troubleshooting software problems, resolving access concerns, and coordinating with central IT when needed
  • Perform and monitor server backups, system health checks, and routine maintenance of Facilities-managed servers
  • Manage user access, including application permissions, group memberships, and NTFS file permissions
  • Coordinate network and security configurations, including VPN access, firewall settings, and SSL certificate renewals
  • Develop and maintain operational reports by writing and optimizing SQL queries across multiple systems
  • Manage and maintain user groups, including Google Groups and access roles across platforms
  • Provide technical input for Facilities-related construction projects, particularly in areas involving access control, alarms, or IT integration
  • Liaise with campus IT and external vendors to implement system changes, resolve escalated issues, and support infrastructure needs
  • Ensure compliance with university IT policies and oversee the department's participation in lifecycle replacement, security, and account management processes
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in IT support, system administration, or application management
  • Knowledge of server maintenance, backups, and database administration
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in software, hardware, and network environments
  • Ability to manage user permissions and system configurations
  • Experience with Maximo, TMA CMMS, and SQL
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with a programming language such as C# or Perl
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $68,000-$85,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
