Key Responsibilities: Perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision, including underframe cleaning, assisting with incoming and outgoing testing on train cars, and installing platform steps and exterior grab handles General facility and rail car cleaning Interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and documentation Verify the quality and accuracy of completed tasks by inspecting finished work to meet required standards and specifications Use simple measuring elements like calipers, measuring tape, and gauges to ensure accuracy Collaborate with team members to provide coaching, training, and mentorship Follow established Standard Work Instructions and utilize basic computer skills Work Environment: Typically dirty, with exposure to dust, grease, and industrial by-products Work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights up to 20 feet Requirements: 1-3 years of professional mechanical experience (automotive, motorcycle, aircraft, heavy equipment, etc.) Proficient with hand and power tools, and measuring instruments Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and documentation Strong understanding of measurements and basic math; proficiency in both standard and metric systems Experience with data entry and basic computer skills Detail-oriented, able to multitask, and capable of meeting deadlines Ability to stand for long periods, twist, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to work in confined spaces and under rail vehicles, and work at heights up to 20 feet Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Additional Information: Comply with the quality, environmental, and safety standards set out in Talgo's management system Respond to company needs with professionalism and commitment |
