* TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY ONLY - IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF STOCK WORKER * Under immediate supervision, in various City agencies, performs common unskilled laboring work requiring physical strength. Moves, lifts and carries items of various weights and sizes. May utilize hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of duties. May be required to operate motor vehicles in connection with the performance of duties. Assist in the maintenance of perpetual inventories and detailed inventory records. Assist in distribution of safety apparel to field personnel such as personal protective equipment, safety vests, gloves, boots, jackets, rain gear etc. as needed. Conduct research to identify and resolve discrepancies, to locate misdirected or possibly intercepted items. Performs related work. Hours: 35 Hours Per Week Work Location: 55 Water St., New York, NY 10041 STOCK WORKER - 12200 Minimum Qualifications Qualification Requirements There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. Preferred Skills Preference will be given to candidate who possesses a driver's license valid in the state of New York. This license must be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this position. Ability to climb stairs lift and carry 30-50 pounds. Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
