Independent of supervision in a hospital setting, as a significant part of daily duties, responsible for treatment of patients with life-threatening illness or injury, whose conditions are likely to change on a moment-to-moment basis. Provide paraveterinary technical support to the Small Animal Clinic Veterinarians. Responsible for the treatment of patients, blood bank support, student instruction, clinician support and facility support. RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge. Our Small animal patient care service consists of highly qualified Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. Quality patient care is our priority, and we are here 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist in the clinical teaching experience. The patient care service provides nursing care to a wide range of patients that include Neurology, Internal Medicine both Soft Tissue and Orthopedic cases. Small Animal Patient Care includes our Intermediate Care Ward (ICW) which is a step down from our Intensive care unit. The patient care team provides excellent care to our patients while having the opportunity to participate in the teaching experience for the veterinary students and gain valuable knowledge learning from our board-certified clinicians and faculty.
