Department's Website: The management of sponsored projects includes but is not limited to, providing active grant workbook information to the principal investigator every month; assisting faculty and staff with questions, issues, and other activities; working directly with faculty with new award planning; reviewing assigned department sponsored projects regularly regarding current balances, new awards, closing awards, no-cost time extensions, and other issues to ensure proper coding and tuition charges are correct; approving accounting and payroll transactions; assisting Business Services and the departments with procurement and travel processes as they relate to grant compliance; assisting Payroll Services with payroll information and reviewing and approving salary information each semester for grant funded employees; acting as a liaison with Fulbright College, faculty, and the Office of Research Administration; reviewing sponsored projects for compliance with University policies and Federal/State guidelines; working with faculty and Office of Research Administration personnel to resolve problems and issues; working as a time & effort reviewer to assist with compliance with maintaining accurate time & effort records; and assisting with the close-out process of sponsored projects. In addition to the above duties for the departments assigned to the position, this employee will serve as the grant financial manager for a large, multi-year state project. For this project the grant manager will perform all of the above listed activities and also support subaward tracking and reporting, provide financial reporting data to support the principal investigator and Office of Sponsored Programs in project reporting, and execute other financial and grant management activities as required. The position will perform other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
