Hiring Department The University of Missouri School of Medicine - Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Job Description The School of Medicine - Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Part-Time Orthopaedic Healthcare Assistant who is interested in joining a fast-paced, highly productive team. Our Orthopaedic service talent teams include: Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians have clinical locations in Columbia, Jefferson City, Boonville, and Springfield. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department's mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri. This position will partner with departmental staff to support the overall culture and advancement of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture), which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization to further our mission. Problem Solving Position Overview: Build and grow credibility, relationships, and understanding of department service line to ensure optimal clinical support Assist with the strategies of supporting the assigned service line team to ensure long-term success Assist with clinical responsibilities including processing mail/faxes/scanning, completing patient paperwork requests, and keeping office supplies stocked Call patients to relay or acquire information and cover office phones as needed Assist with clinical operations related to scheduling patients, coordinating medical scans, processing medical records, chart preparation, and other various medical forms Assist with electronic storage by scanning pertinent documents Assist with incoming and outgoing referrals Assist with various projects ranging from type and complexity Update service line protocols as needed Shift Shift Type: Clinics operate between 8-5pm Monday-Friday. Morning shifts are from 8-12pm and afternoon shifts 1-5pm. It is a requirement for part-time scribes to work a minimum of three shifts per week. Office/Administrative Hours: No - Position will not have Office/Admin Hours Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No Minimum Qualifications High school Diploma or equivalent Anticipated Hiring Range Hiring Range: $13.75 - $17.00 hourly Grade: GGS-MKT University Title: TEMPORARY CLERICAL Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
