Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The mission of Facilities Services is to maintain an aesthetically pleasing campus environment that is conducive to teaching, learning and research. Facilities Services is responsible for the facilities support of all University real property including repair planning, minor renovation and construction, utilities, maintenance, grounds and housekeeping. Facilities Services is part of Administration and Finance and falls under the responsibility of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Operations who reports to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance.
Job Duties
Primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to: mowing, blowing, edging, weed eating, weeding, planting, pruning, spraying, and other miscellaneous duties in maintaining turf, shrubs, trees, and flowers. Other grounds-related duties include trash pick-up and removal, irrigation installation and maintenance, street and parking lot maintenance, storm drain maintenance and snow/ice removal.
Minimum Education/Experience
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience operating grounds related equipment such as riding lawn mowers, backhoes, forklifts, skid steers, etc.

Experience in landscape maintenance/installation company and/or nursery operation.
License or Certification Required by the Department
A valid NC driver license and be eligible to operate a state-owned vehicle in accordance with the ECU property policy. All employees must have and maintain a valid N.C. driver's license at all times.
