Availability Execution Support Specialist

Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Availability Execution Support person who will be a key support to the ongoing project in Marysville, Washington.


Job Description:


  • Provides technical and administrative support for SDAES, which conducts advanced planning for maintenance availabilities on CG-47, DDG 51, DDG 1000, LHA 6, LHD 1, LSD 41/49, LPD 17, and LCS class ships for the U.S. Navy.
  • Collaborates with and support the Government Maintenance Team (MT) in preventing RCCs at the CFR-review level by evaluating Work Packages, CFRs, and RCCs for technical accuracy.
  • Facilitates root cause and RCC analyses to guide the planning team in preventing recurrence, recommend new work templates and updates to existing work templates, and provide GAP Code recommendations to improve post-availability analysis accuracy.
  • Documents and implements Lessons Learned and manage the Execution Support Lessons Learned Applied (ESLLA) tracker for availabilities currently in planning to enhance work specification quality and mitigate potential growth.
  • Develops training alerts based on identified growth patterns and recurring errors.
  • Maintains communication with the Government MT and address any requests or concerns related to current and previous execution availability growth and other potential lessons learned.
  • Attends kick-off and weekly in-person meetings to support the MT and present weekly updates on findings and implementation efforts for that week.
  • Assists in managing over 180 SDAES Level 3-4 documents within the Quality Management System (QMS), consisting of processes, forms, and flowcharts.
  • Facilitates group discussions, both in person and remotely, to draft process changes and reach consensus solutions.
  • Gathers facts, analyzes data and prepares project synopses comparing alternatives; recommends actions and prepares specifications.
  • Resolves data collection problems and coordinates work with personnel.
  • Prepares technical reports for use by engineering, scientific, operational, or management personnel.


Qualifications:


  • Must have at least a high school diploma/GED and at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Must have at least 1 year of naval availability execution experience, ideally with LCS ship class.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Must be very detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must have at least 4 years in shipbuilding trades and managerial roles related to ship repair.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in work specification development.
  • Must have Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word is a must.
  • Must have or obtain OSHA-10 Certification.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with the Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) and ship maintenance practices preferred.
  • A related 4-year degree is preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.


Travel Requirements:


  • 10% Travel Required.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift, carry and transport equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job.
  • Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

Pay Range: $35 - $45 per hour
