About the Role:

The Groundskeeper (Temporary position) plays a crucial role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces within the Camden area. This position is responsible for ensuring that all grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing, contributing to a positive environment for both employees and visitors. The Groundskeeper will perform a variety of tasks including landscaping, lawn care, and general maintenance, which are essential for the upkeep of the property. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are vital, as the quality of the grounds directly impacts the overall impression of the business. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper will help create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the values and professionalism of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with operating landscaping machinery and tools.
• Knowledge of local plant species and landscaping techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular lawn maintenance including mowing, trimming, and edging to ensure a neat appearance.
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees through planting, pruning, and weeding as necessary.
• Ensure all outdoor areas are free of debris and hazards, including litter removal and snow/ice management during winter months.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include physical stamina and the ability to work independently, which are essential for performing the various tasks involved in groundskeeping. Attention to detail is crucial, as it ensures that all areas are maintained to a high standard, enhancing the overall appearance of the property. Time management skills will be utilized daily to prioritize tasks and complete them efficiently within the work schedule. Preferred skills such as knowledge of horticulture will enhance the quality of landscaping efforts, allowing for better plant care and design. Additionally, effective communication skills will be important for reporting issues and collaborating with team members or supervisors.
