Job Description: Job Summary: The sitter will support the provision of a safe environment when maintaining care for patients that may be at risk of delirium, confusion, withdrawal, dementia, suicidal ideation, 72 hour hold, or placed in violent restraints. The sitter may be placed to provide continuous observation to reduce the risk of the patient to cause harm to self or others. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. Maintain continuous visual contact with the assigned patient. Never leaves the patient alone or out of sight unless specifically instructed by the Nurse. Obtains verbal report from the patient's nurse and bedside sitter to identify patients care needs, diagnosis, visual, auditory, or language barriers, as well as any special considerations to maintain safe care. Supports appropriate safety measures and interventions as directed by the clinical staff. Maintains patient environment in a safe and orderly manner. Treats assigned patient with dignity and respect and provides ADL's to the 1:1 patient. Minimum Education, Training and Experience:
