Position Description

ENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Comm/Network Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts.

Responsibilities include:



  • Support Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop and Cloud Computing Architecture development and administration tasks.
  • Support full life-cycle technology implementation tasks, including:
  • Space technology, spacecraft, and high-altitude balloon flight hardware design and fabrication, software/firmware design, and development.
  • Laboratory research, test and assessment design, technology validation testing and experimentation.
  • Re-engineering and re-design of software and hardware after testing.
  • Support assembly and integration tasks, including:
  • Space technology assembly and integration support.
  • Spacecraft bus, payload, and experiment assembly and integration within government facilities.
  • Support flight experiment launch integration tasks.
  • Directly support flight operations.
  • Support in the development of government flight experiment and space technology requirements, mission scope, design tradeoffs/alternatives, concepts of operation, mission constraints, conceptual designs, and mission analyses, including:
  • Refinement of programmatic objectives into actionable requirements.
  • Analyses and documentation for laboratory, range, ground, near-space, and/or space flight experiments.
  • Iteration of requirements, flow-downs, concept of operations; the refining of objectives; and interface management.


Qualifications Required:



  • 10+ years of experience in communication/network engineering for innovative solutions in the defense industry
  • Proven expertise in communication and network system integration, particularly for complex, flight experiments along with mission and space system development.
  • Extensive experience with data links, RF communication systems, satellite communication (SATCOM), and telemetry systems used in aerospace and defense applications.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture design, including LAN, WAN, and wireless communication networks, and proficiency in managing network configurations, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with flight test operations, including pre-launch integration, real-time operations, and post-test analysis, with a focus on communications and data transmission.
  • Hands-on experience with network testing and troubleshooting tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, RF test equipment) and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking issues.
  • Familiarity with military communications protocols, Air Force/Space Force standards, and security requirements (e.g., encryption, data protection) for mission-critical operations.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, computer science or similar from a regionally accredited institution.

Salary Range
$108,825.60 $155,542.40 USD
