UPS Loader - 1st Shift

The UPS Loader located in Rensselaer, IN ensures that all packages are processed through the small parcel area and accurately picked, packed, and shipped to customers without damage, while maintaining efficiency in both time and cost. This role requires operating equipment safely, adhering to DOT and HAZMAT regulations, and supporting team success in a fast-paced environment. This role is for the first shift, with the hours of 5:30 am - 2:00 pm unless there is overtime, which requires the hours to be 3:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Role Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack slip, pack, manifest, and load parcel shipments.

• Report any quality variances or product discrepancies.

• Operate all necessary equipment in the small parcel work area.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Lift cartons or products weighing up to 50-60 lbs independently.

• Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.

• Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Hand load UPS trailers and stack Canadian orders to wood pallets.

• Perform loading, moving, and staging of cartons.

• Operate handheld RF unit and perform quality audits of trailers.

• Monitor product movement to ensure shipments are routed correctly.

• Fill cartons with dunnage and tape using automatic taper.

• Assemble shipping boxes as required.

• Process Value-Added Services (VAS) orders, including labeling and documentation.

• Replenish equipment such as air pillow machines and tapers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day.

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

• Experience operating powered industrial equipment.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attendance record with regular and predictable reliability.

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and interact constructively with others.

• Flexibility to adapt to change and perform other tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access) and internet navigation.

• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including RF use and user interface.

• Experience with third-party carrier systems such as UPS Worldship and FedEx online shipping.

• Experience performing trailer audits and monitoring product movement to ensure accuracy.

• Knowledge of Hazmat, DOT, and environmental compliance requirements.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
