Job Description

The Director of Industry Consulting - Life Sciences, reporting to the Vice President of Global Industry - Life Sciences, is responsible for providing industry domain expertise to Rockwell Automation and its customers. This role drives growth through disciplined, innovative, and strategic leadership, overseeing a world-class Industry Technical Consulting team. The team is tasked with driving sales, fostering collaboration with business units, gathering market intelligence, and developing industry-aligned strategies with optimized products and solutions.

Industry Development, Intelligence and Presence

  • Align activities and strategic planning with Global Industry Vice President and Industry Teams.

  • Participate in development of the Industry Development Plans (IDPs) and content.

  • Provide leadership and organizational support of the company-wide Industry Domain Expertise Team.

  • Support organizational transformation and lead our Industry digital architecture and consulting capabilities.

  • Represent company in Industry events.

  • Assist in determination & assessment of partnering opportunities with documented and tracked progress.

  • Provide IDP readouts across Industry sub-segments to increase focused momentum.

  • Represent industry through support/collaboration in building RA technical capabilities development, initiatives, and Industry content.

Global Sales Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain an internal network of technical/consulting resources to ensure best practices and competency is leveraged globally.

  • Provide metrics and reporting for sales effectiveness and accountability of GITC's and extended technical teams.

  • Assist in Strategic Account Technical Management / Development.

  • Provide pre-sales consultations and content generation to key accounts where required.

  • Coaching on key account opportunities and future growth strategies.

  • Maintain a conduit for communication on global customer opportunities.

  • Assist in the development of common sales tools for Industry sub-segments.

Industry Domain Expertise

  • Market / Application Expertise.

  • Develop and train Industry Team semi-annually on Industry Trends and best practices.

  • Key Customer Relationship Development.

  • Engage Industry Standards Committees and Consortia.

  • Engage appropriate domain expertise in priority Strategic Account opportunities.

  • Provide expertise to OEM segments to better support Industry initiatives.

Solution & Product Portfolio Prioritization

  • Capture, Document and Track Product Gaps along with critical gap coordination across other Industry teams to increase momentum.

  • Communicate gaps to Business Units and develop regular cadence of key BU engagements.

  • Drive response from BUs for all product requests develop business cases for product development as required.

  • Engage in Key Product Launches (NPIs) / Assist in Roll out plan to Industry & OEM teams.

  • Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visa, now or in the future, for this job opening.

  • The ability to travel up to 40% of the time both domestically and internationally

The Preferred - You may also have

  • 8+ years' experience in Life Sciences

  • Global Customer/Industry Services Provider

  • Extensive experience working on global teams of people

  • A 4-year degree, preferably a BS in engineering, or BS/BA in business or marketing with technical experience in the assigned industry field

  • An MBA or advanced degree in business management is desirable

  • A significant sales and business development experience in Life Sciences with a successful track record

For this role, the Total Target Compensation is from $219,120.00 - $328,680.00 of which 80% is base salary and 20% is variable. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
