The Special Events Supervisor in the office of Capitol Campus Facilities Management, functions as the lead for special event setups, breakdowns, and logistics for events located at the Capitol Campus. The supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations and coordination of event setups and breakdowns for all Capitol Campus buildings. They will lead and direct a group of special event workers to support the mission and programs of the University.

Duties include but not limited to:
  • Event Setup
  • Event Breakdown
  • Furniture Moving
  • Waste & Recycling
  • Special Projects As Assigned


Work Interactions
The incumbent reports to the Capitol Campus Special Events Manager and other managers as assigned by the Director of Facilities Management. Reporting to this position will be the SEIU 1199 union special event workers. This position will interact with the entire Georgetown community including student, staff, venders, guests, VIP's and more specifically the Capitol Campus community to proactively implement event management strategy. A key focus of this position is the day-to-day management and oversight of the Capitol Campus event setups and breakdowns.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Requires a High School Diploma
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in event setups and breakdowns
  • Requires experience in higher education or similar work environment
  • Requires experience in a Union (Collective Bargaining Agreement) environment
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills


The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items: to walk, climb stairs, able to work on scaffold, lifts and ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment: and to use hands, arm and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade. Employee is responsible for complying with life safety and OSHA requirements.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
